Membership and Annual Dues
Membership dues are $10 per year for annual Potomac Highlands Beekeepers Association membership. This fee also includes the $6 fee for membership in the West Virginia Beekeepers Association. Lifetime membership is also available for $40 for Potomac Highlands Beekeepers Association, and $90 for the WV Beekeepers Association - Total of $130.
Dues are typically paid at either the February or March meeting annually. They can also be paid at the last meeting of the prior year, in October. Dues are not accepted after the March meeting as WVBA requests that all local membership sign up activities be complete in advance of the WVBA Spring meeting, typically held in early to mid April each year.
A Potomac Highlands Beekeepers membership application form can be found at this Link. Just complete the form and mail it to the address on the form, or else bring it to the next meeting.
To participate in any West Virginia beekeeping programs, your hives and apiaries must be registered with the state. See www.wvbeekeepers.org for additional information. The form to register your colonies with the state of WV can be found Here. This also helps WVDA keep track of WV beekeeping activity and honey production activity each year.
